Summer is coming to an end. In just one week, Caleb will be starting kindergarten and the following week Bella will begin preschool. Three mornings a week, it will just be Drew and me. I am wondering what my life will look and feel like as we enter into this new chapter. Will it be quieter? Will my house be cleaner? Will I miss them like crazy? Will I love the break? Will we have mornings of battles and breakdowns? Will I be able to get them dressed and ready and to school on time? Will they make friends? Will they love school? Will they willingly release our intertwined hands? Will I want to hold on longer? Will they want another hug? Will I be able to let go? Will they be okay? Will I?
The what ifs, the unknown, that’s the hardest part. I know in about a month, we will all be adjusted to our new routine and we will all the okay. But for now, I am a little emotional and that’s okay too.
In honor of my soon to be kindergartner and preschooler, I am posting their very favorite thing we made all summer – DIRT CUPS!
