March is a busy month for me. March is the month that two of my babies were born.
Caleb was born on March 9th…
and his sister Bella came along two years later on March 29th…
This year we are celebrating Caleb’s 6th birthday and Bella’s 4th birthday. Despite having the same birthday month, they have very little else in common with each other. Caleb is my realist, my thinker, my rule follower, he sees the world in black and white. Bella is the dreamer, the talker, the nurturer, to her the world is PINK. Caleb’s birthday list this year consisted of one thing: a microscope. Bella’s birthday list holds a striking resemblance to a baby registry. She would like a crib, a changing table, a rocking chair, a high chair, bibs, baby food, blankets, and clothes all for her REAL BABY that she is hoping God will put in the mailbox for her sometime soon. Since the whole real baby thing isn’t going to work out for her this year and probably not for at least twenty more, she decided that she would settle for a “Princess Radio to sing and dance to”.
Its amazing to watch Caleb and Bella’s little personalities develop, their likes and interests, their strengths and talents. Year after year, they continue to amaze me. I am blessed to be their mommy. Today I celebrate my March babies, my Caleb and Bella (don’t worry I will get to Drew in June) with some delicious Chocolate Chip Birthday Cupcakes.
Yummm. I am a March baby and I have two of my own March babies. March 16 – my son turned 4 and March 20 – my daughter turned 6. It's a great month for celebrating. Happy Birthday!!
SO delicious!!!! :X
Faith's birthday is tomorrow! I love the idea of putting the frosting on with a scoop–brilliant! I am going to do that next time! Thanks!
To my September baby, You are amazing, you never cease to amaze me!
Your kiddos are adorable, and the cupcakes look fantastic! Yummy chocolate icing!
You just gotta check out a post that states it has the "Best Ever chocolate buttercream frosting"! And they look totally delicious. Who would've thought of Ovaltine in the buttercream, I will definately need to give it a go. Happy Birthday to your two angels xx
Happy birthday month to your babes!
These cupcakes and that frosting look delish! I actually have Ovaltine and will have to give it a try sometime.
Hello from Delilah Bakery. I am so excited that you enjoyed my recipe and shared it with others!
This frosting is a favorite at the bakery and hopefully it will soon be a household favorite

These look amazing! Why did you half unwrap the cupcakes though? Haha! Just wondering! :)
I just made this frosting a few weeks ago after seeing it on Joy the Baker. Except I used hot chocolate mix instead of ovaltine – so so so good!
hi, I have a question…have you ever tried piping the frosting, how does it hold up?
The frosting is very soft so you may want to use less of the whipping cream if you are going to pipe it.
Have you ever made this in a cake form? I made the cupcakes today and now I have a birthday cake to make and want to use the recipe, but I’m not sure how long to cook it for.
I haven’t made this recipe as a cake. I’m sure it would work. Just bake until a toothpick comes out with wet crumbs. Good luck!
