I have a very normal life: husband, kids, school, church, homework, sports, cooking, cleaning, laundry. Nothing out of the ordinary, nothing unique and yet sometimes I can barely keep up. It seems that I have been in somewhat of a survival mode this past month, trying to catch up on the house and the laundry, trying to adjust back to the routine of school and now homework, trying to deal with sibling rivalry and sassiness, and yet still trying to find the joy in the normalness of my everyday life. I don’t want to be so busy, so focused with the routine of life that I fail to see the joy in our ordinary everyday moments. Some days I need to turn a blind eye to my messy house, to the laundry that needs folded, to all that needs done and just enjoy my husband, my kids, my life, my normal. Today I am celebrating my everyday normal life with these deliciously ordinary chocolate chip cookies!
Yum! These cookies look delicious! And Bella….oh my goodness, there are just not words for that kind of cuteness!
I'm a friend of Heather's and I am really enjoying your blog. I always make the recipe right off the chocolate chips but I do something wrong. I think I'm going to love the variation of your recipe PLUS the step by step help. Your blog is so helpful and the recipes so good!

Is the bread flour a must? I guess it could make the difference, huh??
I am excited to try these. I have been on the search for a good chocolate chip cookie for awhile now and these look perfect.
Seriously? Bella is A.dora.ble! What a great picture of her cuteness. And the cookies look good too. I'm wondering the same thing — is the break flour a must? Does it make that much of a difference? Gotta try it. :)
bread flour, not break. duh. fingers are typing too fast. :)
Yes, the bread flour is a must! That is what gives the cookies their chewy texture. Try it and let me know what you think :)
She is too sweet for words. these cookies look perfect- i like the chew factor.
Just breath and take one day at a time. I'm doing the same even if there is a pile of laundry on the sofa.
Nothing less than amazing!!
delicious cookies and easy recipe. thanks!

About how many cookies does this recipie make?
It should make about 2 dozen cookies :)
Hi I am trying to do this recipe for Santa and I was just wondering what actually counts as a stick of butter there are so many different variations and I don’t want to mess it up. Thanks
One stick of butter is equal to 1/2 cup. I hope Santa enjoys his cookies :)
Allie,
I made these chocolate chips cookies for my daughter birthday. They were awesome:-) Also, I substituted the chocolate chips for m&m’s and my wife love them.
