For the kiddos: Red, White and Blue Kabobs

This isn’t really a recipe, it is more a food related activity to do with the kids.  I was looking through old pictures and found these ones of my kids making these kabobs last year for the 4th of July.  They absolutely loved making and eating these.  Now remember these were taken last summer.  Caleb was 4, Bella was 2 and Drew was 1.  Please excuse the snotty noses, we had been hit with a little summer cold virus.  Oh and don’t let the poor quality photos and snotty nose kids turn you off, these are definitely an activity worth doing with the kids.

Red, White and Blue Kabobs
strawberries
mini marshmallows
blueberries
wooden skewers
Let them discover, create, eat.
Caleb filled up his whole skewer creating patterns or just randomness and then would make another one.
Bella was a different story.
Notice the full mouth.
He is working on his kabob.  She is eating her kabob.
But in the end,
they both were happy with their results :)
Oh and here was Drew.  He was still a little too young to participate in the kabob making but we made sure he got his share of tasting in.
Happy Fourth of July!
